Lauren Kapolnek, OTR/L
My name is Lauren, I am neurodiversity-affirming Occupational Therapist with advanced practice in executive functioning, social skills, mental health, and sensory integration. I have been practicing for the last 9 years in both behavioral health and outpatient pediatric services with a focus in the 11 and older population. I am experienced with working with a variety of diagnoses such as ADHD, Autism, OCD and Anxiety. I have a background in providing services to the LGBTQIA+ community including gender affirming care and transitions within daily occupations. My own experiences have led to an additional specialty in adaptations and accommodations for those with hyper-mobility disorders. I have a love for providing educational and therapeutic groups utilizing hands-on learning opportunities applicable to your every day life. I am particularly interested in guiding teens and adults through navigating life’s transitions and trials.
How I Help My Clients:
Using occupational therapy’s somatic approach to brain-body connection, I collaborate on routines and processes that work for the individual to promote function while reducing stress, pain, and burnout. True to the DIR model, I find that relationship-building and partnership are essential to successful therapeutic intervention.
